Shampoo Fix!!

Al fin! Tengo algo me mole!!

I’m so excited, can hardly type. Those of you, who have been following my dilemma, know that I have been stressing ( I mean that seriously) over finding a replacement shampoo.

I do NOT understand why Creme of Nature formula changed. I mean, seriously folks! Did I complain? Did you complain? NO!! The shampoo was working and left my hair extremely manageable. After reading the reviews on the “new and improved” version, I decided that it was not going to be my next love.

You all also know that I bought a gallon, yes a gallon, of the original formula during my last trip to the Big Apple right? Well, knowing that I would not be able to replace it, I have used it sparingly (sniffle, sniffle) and have been experimenting in the meantime.

So, here’s what happened today.

I was trying to transfer some shampoo from the gallon bottle to a smaller, easier to handle bottle. That turned out not to be simple, because I don’t have a funnel. I wasted at least 3 good ounces of my “fix” and was heated. No. Seriously, I was PO’d. I canNOT replace my Creme of Nature, so I cannot afford to watch 3 ounces float down the sewage system.

Rather than fight with the bottle, I decided to wait to buy a funnel, but I still needed to shampoo my hair. I wanted to give one of my other test-and-failed-shampoos a try. The first lather was a mess. I instantly had tangles, couldn’t even get my comb near my hair, let alone through my hair.

The second lather, I tried something a little different. I poured some shampoo into my hand and then about equal portions of a cheap cream rinse into my hand.

Initially, I didn’t think that I was going to get a decent lather, but I knew that I would at least have a clean scalp and that I would be able to pass the comb through my hair. Well, after a moment of massaging the mixture in my hair, I felt that familiar foam developing. I didn’t get a real intense lather, but a foam…just like I get when I use my beloved Creme of Nature.

This was only the first attempt, but I’m going to try it next time around to confirm my results. If any of you have done this before, or try it, let me know what the results are like. I’m especially interested in hearing from fellow Creme of Nature fans.

Besitos,
LaNegra

Creme of Nature did US wrong this go round. WHAT IS that formula in that Orange bottle “Creme of Crap” LOL. Where is the CREME hello. I purchased the Sunflower & Coconut Detangling Cond. Shampoo and boy after the 1st two washes no lather what so ever, then when I rinsed my hair felt limp\stripped of life. My hair was upset. On my 3rd wash I decided to add some Organic Root Stimulator Creamy Aloe Shampoo with the C of N and got the results I was looking for a good lather and while I massaged the shampoo fix in my hair I was able to detangle my hair some with my fingers. LUCKILY, I had a back up plan. I only tried Creme of Nature new formula in the orange bottle on the strength of how the Old Creme of Nature in the white and green bottle worked. Anywho, I just ordered Vida Hair Shampoo with Keratina Plus & Vita E and I can’t wait.

    omg! I laughed SO HARD!!!

You are NOT kidding. The new Creme of Nature totally stinks. Your description is right on target; my hair felt completely stripped, dry, like I had just done a super hard protein treatment. It baffles me that companies have a great selling product and decide to “improve” it. Please, please, please…let me know what you think of the Vida shampoo. I’m already anxious to hear LOL.

    Hola Des,

I am still using Creme of Nature shampoo, but I bought 2 gallons of the original. The company changed the formula and the new and “improved” version STINKS! It makes my hair hard, dry and crunchy. The worst part is trying to detangle. What I have that works well for me is mixing equal parts shampoo (any brand) with equal parts creme rinse. I get my scalp clean, get a nice lather, hair feels silky smooth and detangles really well.
