My Favorite Post Relaxer Conditioner

I caved, relaxed my hair after nearly a year. Why, you ask? Because it was becoming too cumbersome to come and simply maintain my tresses.
I was actually doing fine until the cold weather hit. I was accustomed to hopping in the shower JUST to detangle…applying a great deal of creme rinse and going slowly. When the cold weather snuck up on me… I was NOT trying to take another shower just to detangle.

So…I bit the bullet. Hair was relaxed last night using Mizani mild.

Typically, I do a protein treatment the week prior to relaxing, but this was an unplanned, impromptu event. I relaxed and wanted to apply post-protein treatment, but dreaded the additional work that usually follows using my beloved ApHogee 2 Step Protein treatment. Sooooo…I decided to make a concoction.

I used Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner, ApHogee Two Step and Baba De Caracol. I used about 1/4 cup of Alter, 1/4 cup of ApHogee and very liberal amounts of Baba.

When I applied the first two ingredients, I paid special attention to my hairline and the ends. I then just lathered on the Baba…put a plastic cap on and went to bed. That’s right! I went to bed. I rinsed out this morning and my hair was siiiiiiiilky smooth and lost very few strands.

    La Negra!!!

Hermana, I just found your website, quite by accident. I am from NYC as well and I live in PA…let me tell you that these people out here cannot do my hair! It comes out terrible…at times oily and clumpy…other times I could here it break as they comb through it! I’ve been doing it myself for years, but it never comes out like the salons at home.
I found your site today…ran out and got my brush, rolos, and bobby pins!! I’m so excited…I’m going to relax it tonight, and sleep with a protein and cholesterol conditioner and a plastic cap! Let’s see how it comes out tomorrow!

    Thank you LaNegra ! :)

Hola Theresa! I know the feeling!! Being able to do do your own hair, when YOU want is priceless. I trust only a few stylists with my hair. Otherwise, do it myself.
So….how did your hair turn out?!!!
