LOL. I used to think myself pretty computer savvy...until I tried uploading a pic. For the life of me no puedo. As for the treatment, lo siento, I meant to say I've used the Nexxus Emergencee once a monthso it's been 3 times already. I've taken into account everything you've written down and will start drinking more water, intake of more greens, I also understand that this is your opinion, but let me say I appreciate it. I've searched high and low for a webiste like this, dedicated to the Domican woman who have trouble with their hair. So again, thank you for your opinions, for the laughs and for down right just being an awesome person.

Que Dios te bendiga

P.S. I'll keep working on uploading that pic lol. Oh yeah, by the way, I was thinking about trying the Perfecta line. My cousin uses it and her hair comes out looking so good (her hair is naturally curly). I don't know if you've ever heard it, but it says it's main job is to hydrate. Just a thought :)

Hola Samantha,
Gracias, gracias, gracias!! Nunca hay un problema. Life happens.
Ok...so let's tackle these answers in order:

1. Super curly hair usually leads to dry hair. Learn to moisturize and focus on the problem areas.

2. Disclaimer - THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION - If you're hair is dry, then blowing it out has some benefit. It helps the natural oil flow downward, towards to the ends of the hair. HOWEVER, blowing out too frequently will negate the positives. Remember, the blower was originally meant to dry the hair, not straighten it. So, while it has some glossing effects, it should be done with moderation.

3. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to a salon. Heck, I'm a tad bit jealous LOL. But, you may want to go every other week, rather than weekly.

4. Drink more water if you can. A gallon a day would serve the body (and hair) well. This water is necessary for maintaining your vital organs and keeping your skin and hair moisturized.

5. Your diet is not bad, although it made me hungry :) It seems as if you are getting plenty of protein; you could use some greens, such as spinach, broccoli, but other than that not too bad.

6. Remember this and NEVER forget it. Your stylist makes money from you on a weekly basis. If you cut back to every other week, you are taking money out of her pocket. Granted, your hair may benefit, but most stylists will NOT tell you to stay home.

7. Which treatment are you using? I may have missed it. Don't use reconstructors too frequently; they can be drying.

LaNegra...eres un angel! First, let me apologize for not getting back to you sooner, pero ya tu sabes como e la vida. It gets busy and then you have time for nada. Now, to answer those questions (which I am more than happy to answer :) ) here goes:

1. My hair is dry...especially at the roots.

2. I know this must be bad but I've been getting my hair blown out every week for years, but I always skip the summer.

3. I've always been fortunate to have the salon near my house so I let them do it...which is bad, I just never took the time to learn....I should though...no verdad?

4. I do drink water, but I know it's not enough...to be more specific, I'd say more like 3-4 glasses a day.

5. My diet? Arroz, habichuelas, pollo guisado, con aguacate......ok, I just realized I need to exercise! I'm 5'2 and 107lbs...I don't know if that even has anything to do with it.

6. It's a bit of a trick question for me because it used to be so full, now it's thin...but my stylist tells me my hair is fine....tell you what, I'm at work right now. When I get home I'll take a pic of my hair and post it.

7. I use the treatment once a month. I've used it 3 times already.

Well, being that I go to the salon every week, I've decided to tone that down a bit. Maybe twice a month? or maybe once a month? I believe you're right about not enough moisture and too much heat. The reason I'd go every week is because I can't manage a decent hairstyle with curly hair. Whenever I leave it curly the front part of my hair, that is to say the part that falls on my cheeks, no longer gets curly when I wet it. It's pretty straight so it looks weird when the front of my head is straight when wet but the roots and the back is kinky as hell. lol.

I am very much interested in that coconut/aguacate pre-treatment. I will most certainly try that. I've never done a pre-treament before so maybe it'll help.

I will keep a journal starting tomorrow. The whole thing about the amount of hair I lose...bueno....I can tell you now it's too much. So much that I ask myself how is that I still have hair on my head. Anyhoo, I have no products left so I need to go shopping...ASAP! I'm gonna try the coconut treatment tomorrow night...I'm gonna see if I can get the Aphogee as well. I'll let you know how it goes y gracias de nuevo. I hope that from here on out my hair will learn to obey ME!!! LOL.
