Blow Drying a’la Dominican Style

Hey Negra! First off I love your blog and I enjoy reading your answers. I have a question for you regarding the round brush technique. I am a DIY’er and only go to the salon once or twice a year, if that. I do my own rollos and flatiron my hair. I’m trying to figure out how to blow out my hair like they do at the salon. I’m too busy watching Telemundo Novelas or eating pastellitos to figure it out myself LOL Do you have any tips? Gracias!

Hola bella,

I am a little jealous that you get to watch novelas y comer pastelitos!! LOL.

However, I want to clarify that I never blow out my entire length of hair, only the roots. With that in mind, I hold the brush at the scalp, pulling just enough to straighten the root and then pass the blower over (See the video.)

If you are planning on blowing out the entire length of hair, rather than put the brush on top of of the hair, you put it underneath the section of hair and pass the blower over, pulling the brush down with your hand.

If you get the blowing technique down, you shouldn’t need to use the flatiron.

Suerte!
