Hi Maryann,

I'm in NYC now, will be looking into products for your fine hair. However, don't know that much will help with extreme humidity. All of the effort I put into blowing my hair out before I arrived went right out of the window.

I frizzed up almost immediately.

Hi, so... I have been getting dominican/puerto rican (if that is even real-she was peurto rican so whatever LOL) blowouts. I'm stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC and it gets HUMID here! I love the the dominican blow out because it really caters to my fine/curly hair. Im asian and black and I have NEVER found anything that gets my hair straighter without weighing it down! the only problem is the humidity! I am a fan of Alterna Caviar products..granted they are pricey but the omega 3's etc, are absolutely worth it. If any of you out there have fine hair as well, please le tme know some of the products you use to keep your hair tame...thanks!

Yes, that's it! Just pin the hair up in little finger-rolos. It comes out nicely.
The ponytail version is exactly the same, but it's just one big finger curl on the top of your head. You pin it in too.

I wash, put in rolos and do everything as if I were going to do a dubi, but instead, do finger curls.
Make sense?

Oh..ok, I was wondering if that was what you were talking about. I actually do finger curls every night with the bobby pins..it makes my curls last forever.....but the ponytail thing I need to try. Do you still use rolos and blow the roots then do the ponytail thing? I loved how it looked....

I guess I'm the "slow" one. I just assume everyone knows what I'm talking about LOL.

This style really works better if you have layers. Rather than doing a dubi, you just pull all of you hair on top of your head, in one ponytail and using your fingers, roll your ponytail forward, then pin it down. So, it looks like you have a big rolo on top of your head. When you pull it out the next morning, you have bouncy layered curls.

Something like I had <a href="http://www.dominicanblowout.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/post_surgery2.jpg" rel="nofollow">here</a>.

You can also do smaller finger curls and pin them up with a jumbo bobby pin. (I have a feeling that a video is coming soon lol).
