I’m going away to college in late August of 2010 and my hair will be an issue. Could you help me? I need to learn how to give myself the sleek and shiny hair I long for, and I have until August to learn (maybe not perfectly and it won’t come out like professional, but I at least deserve a pretty head, right?) So any tips for doing my own hair for a newbie Dominican style would be great, like product wise or if I’ll need a certain hair dryer. Whenever I do my hair at home, it ends in a giant frizz puff.

Hey amiga, congrats on going to college. You definitely will need to know how to do your own hair if you are not going to an area with a Dominicana near by. My trip to college is what lead to this site. I assumed that there was una dominicana everywhere, just like in NYC. Um…no!
