I am really loving this site. My daughter was blessed with a head full of curly, thick hair, but I have to run a hot comb thru every so often to make it easier for me. I use Carols' Daughter Body Jelly on her braids. It is a bit liquidy/messy, so use sparingly. They advertise it for a body moiturizer but I didn't like the greasiness of it on her skin...Found out if you put it in a squeeze bottle (like the travel bottles with the nozzle you can flip up) it works wonders on little girls braids without clogging the pores...

I just discovered organic coconut oil whice works wonders for my families care. I would also recommend separating the hair into 4 sections using a moisturizing shampoo ( I like creame of nature Sunflower & Coconut detanging conditioning shampoo) wash each section separately and comb each section while washing with a wide tooth shower comb. Style as usual and work through coconut oil through each section of hair.

Oh you made my day. Big besos!
I know I need to post more; I really do. I have to find the time, but I'm going to make it happen.
You know, you can always mention a recipe, or product that you like too. I'd be happy to try something new
and share it with everyone else :)

Besos,
LaNegra

Ah, yes thanks for mentioning coconut oil!
I mentioned it on the recipe page, along with almond, or even olive oil.
Thank you so much for mentioning that :)

One thing I have to mention is that although this site is about getting a nice blowout, there are a number of naturals that follow the same steps.
Also, I'm not sure why people tend to segregate, with regards to being biracial, or mixed, or anything else, when the bottom line is what type of hair
one is born with and how they style it, or care for it.

Biracials are no different that African Americans, who are no different than Dominicanas. We come in a variety of skin tones, with a variety of different hair types and needs.

Ultimately, it's a matter of understanding your HAIR, not your nationality, or ethnic mix. Me intiendes?

Look at sites that cater to natural hair. Look at Kinky-Curly, try coconut to detangle and control, biracialhair.org, Miss Jessies, etc. Only wash the hair once a week and try keeping it in braids. COMB WITH A WIDE TOOTH COMB or risk breaking off thier hair! Make sure to keep the hair moisturized and protected.
