Fell Off the Wagon

Ok mujeres! Hold your rolos!

I fell off…the wagon…

I had to do it….

I relaxed my hair! (and experimented with food coloring).

What made me do it? Aerobics is to blame. As long as I lead a sedentary lifestyle, my hair was good; I could wash, do rolos, blow and I was cool for a couple of weeks. This gym business has been putting a cramp in a sister’s hair! I don’t mind having some frizz issues, even some kinks, but half-n-half was not working for me.

For instance, I take my step class, sweat like a hair-junkie in a beauty supply store and then try to look decent, not cute, but decent to go to work. It was not happening for me. I considered cutting it all off, going short-n-natural, like my girl Anitra, but I just don’t carry short cuts well (will share the Halle Berry story with y’all later).

I did one thing differently this time. Rather than use my regular strength Mizani, I switched to the fine/color treated hair formula. I just wanted to loosen up my curls a little, not go bone straight.

Then, I got a little crazy and played around with a homemade temp color. Can you say “fire engine red?”

I’m under the dryer with the temp color in right now. I hope it looks good when I’m done. If not…it’s gonna be a long, LONG summer LOL.

I took only a couple of pics, due to technical difficulty (what that really means is I broke something and don’t know how to fix it). If I ever get things working, I’ll post the pics.

Besos,

LaNegra

La Negra, I know what you mean about the gym cramping your hair but don’t you love the tone in your body. I know I do! It’s funny because when I don’t work-out I feel guilty.

Oh Shanik, I could barely get the comb through my hair, because it was as hard as my abs LOL.
Now, I feel guilty when I don’t do my hair. Go figure!

    I enjoy your blogs.

LOLLLLLLL OMG, Please post the color pics as soon as possible!!! Sweetie, I’m sure it came out fine, no? :)
I don’t blame you for relaxing, our health and bodies have to be a priority as well. As for me, I am LOVING the freedom of the short curls, but MISS my long hair. While I’m waiting like a crazy lady for it to grow back, I’ll enjoy being able to work out and not feel the affects too much on my hair. Hey, I might even try your fire engine red recipe!!

I’m going to post pics, but I’m not kidding you when I say that I’m having technical difficulties, LOL. My camera is repenting :P

LMAO!!! The creamy crack strikes again!!!!

All joking aside, I love Mizani and Affirm relaxers. I think it’s great that people embrace the options in beauty. Relaxers, when applied properly, can really help achieve more versatility and maintaining a style. I love it that you share your personal hair experiences and provide helpful, honest information about healthy hair care.

Can’t wait to see our pics!

    Arie$ – you’re a keeper!! LMAO!
I’m an honest woman; the frizz was running my life and I needed to show it who the boss was LOL.

I’ll get some pics up as soon as I can. I need someone to get my laptop cleaned up and then I should be able to post new pics and videos :)
