I am so happy to read about the salon in Raleigh because I may be moving there in a year or two. We have some family and friends down there~ so even if we visit~ now I can go swimming and then to the salon! He-he!

  7. LaNegra says:

Make sure you completely wet your hair, then apply a decent conditioner and cap BEFORE hitting the chlorine ;)

  8. Nicole says:

The people at this salon were SO nice and Miguellena was a sweetheart. She made my hair feel healthy and look the saem I will definitely be going back again. Also the minute I stepped into the salon the were ready for me. No line. No wait. I recommend this salon to anyone in the area.

Do you know of any dominican salons in the Fayetteville, NC area? I have been here going on two years and have resorted to doing my own hair. I have never been to a Dominican salon, but everyone that I know who has had that experience have been satisfied. I am looking forward to someone else doing my hair, even if it is just once a month. I am pretty comfortable with doing my own, but would like the salon experience every once in a while. Thanks.

  12. LaNegra says:

Crystal, I am sorry, but I don’t know of any salons in Fayetteville. There are a few in Raleigh; they
seem to be springing up more around there, but nothing in Fayetteville (at least not yet).

:3 hey negra <3 i have a huge problem. im in college VERY from home (nyc) and theres no dominican salons anywhere. LOL. I'm in the north eastern panhandle of West Virginia, 30-40 mins. from Pittsburgh and I have no idea what to do with my hair. I moisturize and bun way too often and I would love to do my rolos nicely and get a livable blowout. How can I achieve that? Oh, if it's any help, my hair is a inch and a half past BSL and curly (teyanna taylor-ish) lol and im not sure how to get it around the roller or now to blow my roots (i know its all in the wrists though) HELP!! Besos y amor from W.V :3 (p.s. how bout that snow lol)

I live in Dayton, OH is there a Dominican Salon any where near there??

  26. LaNegra says:

    Hey Guapa,

I don’t know of any Dominican Salons in Ohio. There are a few salons that say they offer a Dominican Blowout, but I cannot confirm this, as none of the stylists are Dominicanas.

  27. B says:

hi im african american & have always wanted a dominican wrap.. do any african americans come to your shop?

  35. LaNegra says:

Yes guapa!! I would say that in NYC there are just as many African Americans in the salons, as there are Latinas, if not more.

  36. LaToya says:

How much is a blow out for transition hair?

  37. LaNegra says:

LaToya, it depends on the stylist. Each stylist charges different prices, but be warned…many stylists charge more for hair they consider harder to do.

  38. Devin says:

Hi. I’m new to the Durham area and was wondering if there are any Dominican salons here. I’ve pretty much given up my salon search. My experience here has been negative thus far. I’ve had the BKT for years now so my hair is pretty easy to style, however, each new place I’ve tried seems shocked when I say that I don’t use any additional styling products (i.e. grease or oil sheen) in my hair. I’m just looking for a blowout or roller set like I get when I go back to NYC. I’ve seen some of the older posts re: salons in Raleigh. Are there any in Durham or is Pro-Hair in Raleigh the closest? Please help!

  39. Yoradi says:

I am going to yomari’s next weekend, my hair is all fell off :( but I know yomaris will recue, just like a dominican knows!

  40. LaNegra says:

Suere Yoradi! Qué trágico que el pelo se cayó. Ojalá, yomari puede ayudarse muy rapida.

  41. LaNegra says:

Hola Devin, I cannot personally make any recommendations, but maybe someone else can help you out.

  42. Rissa says:

Hello, I have been to this salon before, actually twice. My hair came out beautiful and most of the workers were friendly. I was wondering if you guys are offering any specials for the holidays? Thanks :)

  43. B says:

I can hardly wait until Monday to go to Pro-Hair Dominican Salon on Newburn Ave in Raleigh. My Sis in NJ has been bragging to me about a Salon that she goes to, to get the Domincan Blowout and finally after two years of being here I can finally be able to brag back to her come Monday evening. I’m so excited!!! It’s gonna be my regular spot. Whoo Hoo!!! Thanks to the young folks in my life!!

  44. Dior says:

Although there was a post about 3 years ago asking about Dominican blow-outs in Houston I still wanted to share my suggestion. JC Salon near Jersey Village/Cypress. I love this place, the women there do a great job. It can take 4-5 hours, which use to really bug me but it is always well worth the time. I have only had 2 times where I have been there for more than that time and felt a little frustrated. The majority of the time it is a very pleasant experience. My only other complaint is that I have sent at least 4-5 people there for sure but have never received any sort of kickback/discount for the referrals : /

  45. LaNegra says:

Thank you for sharing! It would make for better business if they offered a discount, or special for frequent recommendations. Maybe, you should suggest it to them…sometimes, people overlook things unintentionally :)

  46. Sandra says:
