I submitted the vote for Jennifer Martnez Dominican Hair Salon. Since moving to Raleigh from NYC, it’s been touch and go with my hair. This salon was recommended by a friend so I decided to give it a go. I was in desperate need of a cut after chopping my hair myself (don’t ask). The place wass very clean, large and spacious. I was taken to the shampoo station immediately, so that was good. The products they use were Silica Mix, VERY happy about that. The $40.00 charge also included a deep conditioner as well. Over all I was pretty satisfied with my cut and styling. I would have preferred long layers, as I am accustomed to wearing, but judging from Jennifer’s reaction to that request, I’m not too sure she was comfortable with doing them. She did blow out my hair nicely, paying special attention to the roots and minimal attention to the rest of the hair, less damage is always great, right? My only complaint is that the roller girl kept putting too much hair per roller. My hair is curly and VERY thick, that just doesn’t work for me. I pointed out two times that it was too much hair, but she seemed to think she knew better. It was too early for me to continue arguing, so I let her do her thing. All in all, the overstuffed rollers didn’t take away from my hair drying or the blow out. It’s a good salon, not FABULOUS, but good. I’m going to give Pro-Hair a try next time and can’t wait to report back to you ladies how it works out!
